Mr. Donald Desper graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998 with a BS in Psychology and a MS in Counseling Psychology in 2001. He has attended several clinical workshops to include Behavioral Pain Management, Critical Incident Stress Management, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Management, the Level of Care Utilization System, and Prison Reform. He has also trained clinical staff in Collaborative Care Systems, the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s assessment and placement criteria, Crisis Management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Management, and Assessment and Diagnosis. Donald has applied his education and experience as Clinical Director of Crisis Residential Services, Director of Integrated Care, Intensive Outpatient Services Coordinator, Court Services Mental Health Liaison, Partial Hospitalization Coordinator, Clinical Director of Residential Services, Day Treatment Coordinator, Outpatient Therapist and Behavioral Consultant/Trainer.
Donald has experience working with various populations including children with serious emotional disturbances, adolescents, adults with serious mental illness, Native Americans and Alaska Natives, couples and families. His approach to treatment is primarily Cognitive Behavioral although often includes techniques associated with Experiential Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and Object Relations.
Donald has over 35 years of experience in mental/behavior healthcare. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Board Certified LPC Supervisor (LPC-S), and a Certified Mental Health Telehealth Provider. He provides services, by appointment only, and is currently accepting new clients.
