Gregory T. Obert, Ph.D.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Obert is originally from a rural community in northeastern Illinois. He graduated with honors from Augustana College, earning a BA in psychology. Dr. Obert earned an M.Ed. in counseling from DePaul University in 2014 and began working in community mental health in Chicago.  He later went on to earn an M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. He completed his internship at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Jackson Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he specialized in addictive disorders, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and evidence based assessment and treatment of trauma disorders. 

Dr. Obert is experienced in treating and assessing a broad variety of mental health issues. He specializes in treating anxiety, depression, substance use/addictive disorders, and trauma-related disorders, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and PTSD. He also has expertise with various assessment needs, including psychoeducational (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Giftedness/IQ, testing accommodations), medical/pre-surgical (spinal cord stimulator, bariatric surgery), psychodiagnostic, and personality evaluations.

Dr. Obert is licensed in Mississippi and is accepting new patients.  He is also able to see Illinois clients via private pay and out-of-network coverage.
