Individual Psychology Services
Individual Psychotherapy For Adults

Individual psychotherapy is when a client meets one-on-one with a psychologist to discuss issues that may be interfering with their lives or preventing them from achieving some desired goal or outcome. A psychologist works with a client to identify meaningful treatment goals and establish an appropriate course of treatment best suited to help a client achieve the change they desire. Psychotherapy is an effective and scientifically validated treatment option for a wide variety of mental health issues. Some of the problems that we commonly treat with individual psychotherapy include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, grief, or some other major life change/adjustment. At LeFleur Behavioral Health, our psychotherapy practice is grounded in a cognitive-behavioral orientation and emphasizes evidence-based treatments and techniques. All individual psychotherapy services are provided with the strictest confidences.
Teletherapy Options
In addition to in-person services, we offer internet videoconferencing and telephone therapy options to assist clients in overcoming any scheduling or travel limitations they might be experiencing. As a result of these services, our clients can engage in psychotherapy from the comfort and privacy of their own homes as long as they have computer, phone, or internet access. This is especially useful for our clients living in rural areas that might not have direct access to mental healthcare providers in their surrounding community. These services are available to any of our clients living within the State of Mississippi!
Psychological Testing and Assessment

Psychological testing, or assessment, is a service that psychologists are uniquely trained and qualified to provide. Assessment services involve clients (and sometimes their family members) meeting with a psychologist for the purpose of answering questions about an individual’s psychological functioning. Typically, psychologists will use various specially designed tests, tasks, and/or questionnaires, along with a detailed clinical interview, to gather the needed information. That information is then interpreted and compiled into a written report detailing the findings and recommendations as needed. Psychological assessment is commonly used to gain information about an individual’s intellectual and/or academic functioning and help diagnose conditions such as Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The results from such assessments are often a crucial step in justifying a student’s need for academic accommodations or pharmacological treatments. At LeFleur Behavioral Health, we also offer a variety of other specialized assessments, including pre-procedure evaluation for bariatric surgery and spinal cord stimulator implantation. As with our other services, our assessment program is guided by empirical practice and only employs assessment measures and techniques that have been scientifically validated. Psychological assessment is a widely variable and highly customizable service; if you are unsure whether your issue is appropriate for this type of evaluation, please contact us. We are happy to discuss how our capabilities may meet your need.
Trauma-focused Psychotherapy

Psychological trauma can occur when a person experiences an event that causes them to feel severely threatened emotionally, psychologically, or physically. Unfortunately, most people will experience a trauma at some point in their lives, such as a car accident, the loss of a loved one, an act of violence, sexual abuse/assault, war, or natural disaster. The aftereffects of trauma can cause significant disruptions in an individual’s ability to carry on with their lives, with some survivors of trauma experiencing lasting effects for years following. Our psychologists have advanced training in the most effective treatments for psychological trauma and years of experience working with clients to make positive changes following a traumatic event.
Recovery Coaching

Recovery coaching involves encouraging and offering counsel to clients on a range of personal and mental health-related issues. This approach is helpful to individuals with chronic mental health conditions or who may be at risk of relapse such as those with substance use disorders, mood disorders, or psychotic disorders. Recovery coaching is distinct from consulting, mentoring, or engaging in treatment. A recovery coach helps individuals grow by analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, and the potential challenges and obstacles they are likely to face in achieving recovery. A recovery coach will then help devise a custom plan of action to achieve specific outcomes aligned with one’s overall vision of recovery. The final stage of recovery coaching will consist of working through the plan of action and monitoring progress as individuals achieve their goals one by one.
